When is the best time to schedule my maternity session?
The ideal time for a maternity shoot is between 32 to 36 weeks of pregnancy. This is when your bump is beautifully rounded, but you’re still comfortable enough to move around and enjoy the session. However, if you’re further along and still feel great, we’ll happily accommodate your schedule!
Can family members be included in the shoot?
Absolutely! We encourage family participation, especially if you’d like to capture the excitement of siblings, partners, or even pets. Maternity sessions are a wonderful opportunity to document the growing bond between your family and the baby on the way.
What should I wear for my maternity session?
We provide over 20 handmade gowns for you to choose from, so you can pick up to three that suit your style. If you prefer to wear your own clothing, we recommend comfortable, form-fitting attire in solid, neutral colors or soft pastels that highlight your beautiful bump.
How long does a maternity session last?
Most maternity sessions last between 1 to 1.5 hours. We aim for a relaxed pace so you can enjoy the experience without feeling rushed.
What's the best time during the day for the session?
For the best lighting, we recommend scheduling outdoor sessions during golden hour – the hour before sunset – for that dreamy, soft glow.
Where are the best outdoor maternity photo locations in Canberra?
Some of our favourite spots include the National Arboretum, the shores of Lake Burley Griffin, Commonwealth Park, and the open grasslands around Canberra's northern suburbs. We'll recommend the best location based on the season and the look you're after.
